horizontal lines on startup
im not sure why these lines are popping up at start up and i just want to make sure my MBP isn't going to die on me. Please help!

It might be helpful if you indicated the EXACT model/year of your MBP and the OSX.
The image suggests a hardware problem, the GPU being the prime suspect. If you can attach it to a monitor, you might be able to get a better idea where the problem lies. Duplicate image on the monitor indicates a GPU problem. Good image on the monitor suggests a display or display connection problem. A definitive answer can be obtained at an Apple store genius bar.
